ahah ;) sounds interesting, I'm working on a pivot3d helper with align
features, currently at early stage...

Yes, I agree with you, I'm part of the prerelease group, I've tested Pixel
Bender, and I'm very excited about it, I'm curious to see how this can be
used with GoAsap.
I feel that it will democratise/empower a lot runtime pixel/bitmap advanced
manipulation and ease design of complexe distortion ;) no more back and
forth green/red gradient designs for displacement map effects ?

I'm also very excited about the V. project regarding new text rendering
features ...

Have a nice week-end!

Best regards.

yeah, there are a few things that they're putting in that are going to be
very nice features for doing 3D work, one of which I *think* will help out
with interactivity. But so far we haven't really been too impressed with
speed enhancments. We were hoping for some speed increases, but Vectors are
no different than Arrays in our basic speed comparisons and we're just
starting to look at drawTriangles() to see if there's a speed dif there. So
far, it just doesn't seem like there's a diff. There IS a dif in quality
because of the perspective drawing of course, but I think that comes at a
price - like using percision on the materials in PV3D.

still, it's way to early to say one way or the other. I have a feeling
there are somethings we still don't know about that they've put in the
player and the api. I'm more excited about PixelBender and custom filters
to be honest

I'm looking forward to testing it ;)

the 2.5D, including the type of rotation system and culling choices. It's
kinda crazy. They figure if YOU write your own triangles, then you can
control everything, > but when they do it for you (and they don't draw
triangles btw), they assume alot - which in the end costs you on CPU.
Thank you for sharing this John, it sounds like the future of Papervision3D
and other 3D APIS is bright and will remain on the edge ;)
