Hi there,

Colin Moock Essential Actionscript 3.0 is definitely the first one to own.
It is not a specific book on OOP but it can help you to have a first
overview of main concepts.

Colin is giving currently a one day free course build around its book, if
you are interested in:
http://www.adobeas3tour.com/

If you just start with OOP the following are maybe a bit too complexe for
you:
Actionscript 3.0 Design Patterns William Sanders& Chandima Cumaranarunge by
O'reilly,
It is an excellent companion to Moocks book.

On design patterns:
Advanced Actionscript 3.0 with design Pattern by Joey Lott and Danny
Patterson is also interesting in several aspects, however I feel it is not
as good regarding to its structure as the one above.

For best practice I would suggest:
http://www.amazon.com/Code-Complete-Practical-Handbook-Construction/dp/07356
19670/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1201163931&sr=8-1
(it is not a book directly related to Flash/Flex/Actionscript but it is an
excellent ressource to general good practices)

I hope this will help you.

Best regards.

Cedric M. (aka maddec)
